What is it with Subaru guys and riding clutches?
There is a shop next door to my work and it is down right excruciating to listen to them moving cars around. WHOM_WHOM_WHOM_WHOM trying to back up, never releasing the clutch or rev it to 3k then ride the hell out of it to move!
Day in and day out, riding clutches all day long. Do none of these guys know how to drive a stick? Do they think it sounds “cool”? Do they enjoy replacing clutches yearly? What is the point?!?!?!?!

And why do Honda guys always do the ‘blip blip blip’ of the throttle thing when letting out the clutch in first? I’ve driven Hondas, it’s totallt possible to just let the clutch out as you apply the throttle.

Is it a Honda thing that transferred to Subarus when all the Honda guys “upgraded” to WRXs and STIs?

Why do the Bros who drive automatics pop it in neutral and rev the shit out of it at car meets and stoplights? Can’t they simply push in the clutch and do the same? >:(

There’s a guy in my town who drives a lowered Forester with loud exhaust who does exactly this. I’ve been behind him in traffic, and every time he gets the car rolling from a stop it’s WHOM_WHOM_WHOM_WHOM.

Smething about AWD cars being harder to launch smoothly I guess.

Given I’ve driven AWD cars, including Subarus, I call BS.

It almost pains me to hear it. I can just picture the clutch sliding along the flywheel, peeling away friction material in a hot smokey mess.

There is a guy at my work with a WRX wagon. He claims you have to get the revs high enough to spool the turbo before you begin letting the clutch out.
